Jar Candles

Burning jar candles is the preferred way to scent up a room. In fact, they are better than any other type of candle for this task.

A candle will release its scent just by being exposed to air. Since jar candles have lids, the scent is preserved until the candle arrives at your home.

Some of the jars that the candles come in are quite attractive. One advantage that soy and vegetable wax candles have over paraffin is that since the wax is water soluble, the jars can be easily cleaned and reused.

*** It is important to note that it is not recommended to reuse the jars to make another candle.

Once a jar candle is burned, the jar could become weakened from the heat of the flame and break if used over and over.

There are many other uses for a cleaned out jar though.


Cleaned Out Jar Candles

Cleaned out jars can be used for many purposes. The size and shape can help determine what its best use will be. One of the things I like to do is to use a jar to store cotton balls in the bathroom. It’s attractive and functional. Here are the jar candles I recommend for this.

Some jars make a great storage container for jams, dried fruit, and other foods. Need a good place to store that extra change lying around? If you’re like me, get one of the larger jars.

How about using a candle jar to store your bath salts. The possibilities are endless, just use your imagination. You paid good money for that scented candle, why not get the most out of it.


How to Clean Off the Label

If your jar candle has a sticker label on it, try this to easily clean the jar. Remove as much of the label as you can with your fingernail and then clean the remaining gunk with WD-40. It works great!

If you don’t have WD-40, there are products you can buy at Wal-Mart such as Goo Gone, etc. I personally like the WD-40 because it has so many other uses and I always have a can handy. Try It!


Jar candles are one of those luxuries that can be enjoyed every day. Even when they are gone, reusing the jar provides additional value for your money.
